The History of the Early Music Ensemble
Clarinet Consort
Founded in 2005 by the Maestro António Menino, the Ensemble of Early Music
Clarinet Consort is an innovative project that dedicates himself to the
deepening and to the interpretation of the European Music since the XVI to the
XVIII centuries.
The base formation of the group is exclusively instrumental, although it can
present in concert with soloists and chorus, with the composition changing
accord to the pieces characteristics.
Usually, the Clarinet Consort programs are focus in the European movement of
transition of the Renaissance to the Baroque that takes place in Europe since
1600, first in Italy and Germany with Monteverdi and Shutz, respectively,
following France with Lully and, finally, England with Purcell.
Since 2006 this group has presented in several music festivals and performed
commemorative concerts with repertoires adapted to the ephemerid.
